Trap Music Museum Unveils Its First Female Exhibit Honoring Cardi B & Nicki Minaj

Atlanta, GA The Trap Music Museum paid homage to the culture’s leading ladies with a new exhibit celebrating Cardi B and Nicki Minaj. Sponsored by Martell and Slim & Husky’s Pizza, the event was attended by hundreds of Atlanta’s tastemakers including, radio personality Headkrack, DJ Smallz, and media outlets that included representatives from CNN, Bossip, and Billboard.

In a culture where women are rarely rewarded, the new exhibit was created to commemorate two of Trap’s finest.  The installation celebrates the musical and cultural impact of both Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, with an innovative collection of imagery and objects. The permanent exhibit includes a custom made “beez in the trap” doll house included in Nicki’s installation and a black and white checker-based stripper pole included in Cardi’s.

While Nicki made her come-up free-styling on DVDs and mixtapes, and reminded us in 2012 that you can catch her in the trap on her hit single, “Beez In The Trap.” Cardi B started recording music as a stripper in the Bronx giving herself the moniker Trap Selena…both leaving an indelible mark on the culture.

Visionary, artist, actor, mogul, art curator, Tip “T.I.” Harris shares his excitement, “Ever since the Trap Music Museum opened, one of the most common questions posed to us was ‘why aren’t there any exhibits showcasing women?’ We were always committed to honoring women who contributed to the culture, but finally found a way to truly elevate and celebrate two of the best. The Nikki Minaj and Cardi B exhibits lift two of the greatest to their rightful place within the Trap Muzik Universe.”

The additional unique works of art were done by artists Ryann Kelly, Jordan “JJ The Aritist” Jones, Tiffanie “The Pretty Artist” Anderson, Ismail “Calligrafist” Sayeed, Bria “Briartiste,” Brooks, Yo Rich Bizzarre, Ryann Kelly, Dizzy@sheisdizzy, Set By Sky@setbysky, Kai@kaiyennepepper, AK@akgotart and Geryn Harris@geryn_ round out the exhibit which will be a permanent fixture.
As catalyst of the culture a space honoring their achievements was long overdue.
