JOURNEYS TO HOST FREE CULTURAL AND MUSIC FESTIVAL “DESTINATION: ATLANTA” ON 
SEPTEMBER 28TH IN PARTNERSHIP WITH 
ADIDAS ORIGINALS
(ATLANTA) – August 28, 2019 – Journeys, the retail leader in teen apparel and footwear, in partnership with adidas Originals, has announced “Destination: Atlanta,” a free, one-day celebration of music, culture, and the city of Atlanta taking place Saturday, September 28 at the Georgia Freight Depot in downtown Atlanta.
Inspired by the free-spirited energy of music festivals and underground parties of the 90s, “Destination: Atlanta” will feature live performances by hip hop artists Kodie Shane and Marlo and DJ sets by Heroes x Villians and Ferrari Simmons. This crew of up-and-comers represents the diverse talent coming out of Atlanta today. Additional performers will be announced. Kenny Burns will host.
The event will transform a vast parking lot near the Georgia Freight Depot in the historic Underground Atlanta area into an immersive music experience that will include interactive stations such as a “Maker Lab,” a “living art” wall, a pool lounge, foam towers and more.
“Destination: Atlanta” is the second installment of the annual “Destination” series, which launched last year in San Diego and drew over 3,400 attendees.
“Our goal has always been to create authentic, thoughtful experiences that we can share with our consumers and employees,” says Kari Irons, SVP Marketing, Journeys Group. “So we’re excited to partner with adidas again, and build on what we started last year in San Diego. This year, you’ll find performances and programming that really highlight the best of Atlanta’s music and art scenes, along with a few unexpected activations. Last year was made specifically for San Diego, and this year will feel very much like a local, Atlanta-born event.”
